Dreams in Aspamia is an Israeli professional printed speculative fiction magazine. In it one can find stories of science fiction, fantasy, horror, weird-fiction and related genres. The magazine, founded in 2002, is dedicated mainly to original Hebrew stories, though each issue also contains articles and a translated story or two.
The magazine is published by Yaniv Publishing Ltd., managed by Ron Yaniv. Its founding editor was Israeli writer Vered Tochterman. Its current chief editor is Israeli writer Nir Yaniv (no family relation to Ron), who replaced Ms. Tochterman in 2007.
Among the Israeli writers published regularly in the magazine are Lavie Tidhar, Guy Hasson, Nir Yaniv, Vered Tochterman, Assaf Asheri and Hagay Averbuch. Among the writers whose work was translated into Hebrew and published in previous issues are Alfred Bester, Robert Heinlein, Philip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury, Tim Powers, Neil Gaiman, Michael Marshall Smith and Paul Di Filippo. The article section regularly features Abigail Nussbaum and Dotan Dimet.
Dreams in Aspamia is currently not open to non-Hebrew submissions. The translated stories are selected by the editor from among what’s published in foreign magazines.
